Sigils are, simply put, an externalized representation of an inner desire. To the mind of the sigil’s creator, it is not only a mirror of such a desire, but also a direct link to it by which means the inner wish may materialize in the outer world. The sigil provides a path of travel from the microcosm into the macrocosm to bring about magical change.
With sigils, as with mudras, we find the causal sphere in play. When you draw a sigil the magician must firmly make an association with the image before him and his desire, seeing them as synonymous and even replaceable with one another. To you, and only to you, the sigil should seem to be the very artwork that is your desire in a manner similar to expressionistic painting. Its every curve, line or hidden symbol should be the very manifestation of your desire.
