Onmyodo

From Veritas

Onmyodo (陰陽道), meaning "the way of yin and yang", is a form of Japanese occultism. It was created when esoteric Daoism came to Japan and became infused with Shinto practices. A practitioner of Onmyodo is known as an Onmyoji.

Having it's basis in Daoism, Onmyodo is based on the theory of yin and yang and the five elements and was mainly used for divination and purification, which often meant pacifying malevolent youkai.
