Direct Magick is a magical method which, in its basic form, considers rituals, words, and magical tools, herbs, times, and places unnecessary. The philosophy behind direct magick asserts that the only necessary elements for magical change to occur are energy to power a magical act, and a will to formulate and direct such an act.
It must be emphasized that although materialistic mediums are considered unnecessary by direct practitioners, they are by no means considered useless. The philosophy essentially maintains that while a sword might be pointed at a spell target to focus the mind, and that sword might be consecrated to imbue it with value to the magician's unconscious, these are simply aids to be worked with, and not themselves magical. Direct magicians strive to achieve power whilst maintaining simplicity.
